Malaysia has announced an increase in the e-Invoice exemption threshold from RM1 million to RM3 million in annual turnover , providing additional relief to many micro and small businesses.

This change means that businesses with annual turnover below the revised threshold may be exempted from the mandatory e-Invoice implementation requirement, subject to the latest conditions and guidelines issued by the authorities.

The revision is expected to give smaller businesses more time to prepare their accounting systems, internal processes and digital readiness before transitioning to e-Invoicing.

For businesses that are approaching or exceeding the threshold, it is still advisable to begin preparing early by reviewing accounting software, customer and supplier information, invoicing procedures and LHDN e-Invoice requirements.
